Here We Go Again…
Well Hello! It sure has been a while…
Well something that I never thought I would do again is happening… I am reviving this blog for the time being, at least. I have to admit, there is a motive this time around! More on that in a minute. If you haven’t noticed, there is a new look around here and none of the old stuff has made its way over. No one wants to read about the fall of 2017 again so that is safely tucked in the archives over on the weebly site. This space needed a clean state, different vibe, and a new domain. Its also going to be a different approach altogether. I am planning on weekly or bi-weekly posting… not daily! Its going to be a lot of running stuff. It may grow to bread and other things but lets start small with one focus and perhaps grow from there! Why running you may ask? Again, Ill get there in a minute.
Before we get into why I am back here, we have some ground to cover. Its really been a minute since I have done this. In a nutshell, I took the LSAT, went to law school… during which I got married and had a baby… studied for the bar exam, took the bar exam and passed! Hardest thing I have ever done (considering I was working and was a first time mom to a 4m old). After law school I got a new job (prosecutor), and started in intake. I ran the NYC Marathon (there will be a post on that, Im sure) and then I got moved to misdemeanor family violence (oof). I got pregnant again, had boy #2, went back to work (juvenile intake this time) and here we are. Phew!
I mentioned I have a motive to be here… Over the blog series, you will learn more about all of this… but in a nutshell, here are the basics. I was chosen to run the London Marathon on the Crimestoppers charity team! I did enter the ballot, but I had to commit to the charity spot before I would know the results of the ballot. Since its crazy hard to get into the London Marathon on a ballot, I chose to claim my charity spot. This is where I need your help! I am obligated to raise funds for the squad! Its a cause that I am happy to support, but I cant do it alone! Over the year I will post my running updates, information about Crimestoppers and what they do, and information on how you can support me if you choose! If you live in San Antonio… we have a Crimestoppers! They benefit the community here and help to keep you safe. Running for the UK squad is just me supporting the charity in a different city.
While my main motive is to gain your support and keep you up to date on training, I also need to stay on track over the next year. Having to write these will keep me accountable!! I totally understand if you dont wish to provide monetary support! Even you reading the blog will make me stay motivated and accountable!!! Im so glad you are all here! :)
Next up, keep an eye out for posts on my goals, information about Crimestoppers and what they do, a NYC recap, training updates and more! Again, Im so grateful for each of you for being here as I try to get back into shape post Griffy and train for another 26.2 miles!
